Devexperts has secured regulatory approval for its DXtrade trading platform from Indonesia’s Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Agency, Bappebti, making it one of only two platforms cleared by the agency for licensing by local commodity futures and derivatives brokers.
The approval landed in August 2026 following what the company called a thorough and comprehensive review process. Bappebti, which sits under Indonesia’s Ministry of Trade, supervises the country’s commodity futures and derivatives markets and maintains the official registry of licensed market participants.
London’s trading industry is coming home!
“The approval of DXtrade by Bappebti is meaningful,” said Charmaine Athaide, Devexperts’ Managing Director for Asia Pacific, “enabling us to bring our flagship platform and its ample benefits to commodity futures and derivatives brokers across Indonesia.”
“We see significant potential in the Indonesian market and are pleased to now be able to support this as one of Bappebti’s two authorized trading platform providers.”
A Crowded Queue of International Entrants
DXtrade’s approval arrives in a market that has drawn a string of international brokers over the past two years. Doo Financial Futures secured a Bappebti futures brokerage licence in December 2024, Plus500 acquired the Bappebti-regulated Global Intra Berjangka in December 2025, and XTB has moved through a PALN licence and a CFD licence for its local subsidiary since entering the market via its 2024 acquisition of Eagle Capital Futures.
That expansion has not been uniformly smooth. XTB chief executive Omar Arnaout recently said Indonesia still needs to “prove itself to join this group of countries” over the next six months, pointing to low deposits and limited brand recognition as obstacles.
Devexperts is not entirely new to the Indonesian market either. Local broker Bahana Sekuritas has run a white-label version of the platform, branded Bahana DXtrade, since 2023. The platform provider’s Head of OTC Platform, Jon Light, has separately said the DXtrade business is “growing rapidly in terms of the number of traders and brokers licensing it.”
Founded in 2002, Devexperts is headquartered in Ireland and employs more than 800 engineers across offices in the United States, Germany, Bulgaria, Singapore, Portugal, Turkey and Georgia.
OJK Approval Is Next
Athaide said the Bappebti clearance strengthens DXtrade’s position to pursue authorization from Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK), Indonesia’s Financial Services Authority, which covers banking, capital markets and digital financial assets.
“The approval by Bappebti puts us in a strong position for further regulatory approval by other supervisory bodies in Indonesia, including OJK,” she said. “We intend to seek approval from OJK in the coming months in order to enable us to serve Indonesia’s significant digital asset market. We are looking forward to expanding our presence in Indonesia as it continues to establish itself as a market with strong growth potential.”
Oversight of digital financial assets, including crypto, in the country transferred from Bappebti to OJK in January 2025, separating crypto and commodity derivatives oversight into distinct regulatory tracks.
