At Bitcoin Beach, one merchant reportedly said she had received her first Bitcoin payment of the month.
One merchant isn’t an entire economy. But the contrast exposes a question billions of dollars can’t answer:
What kind of adoption are we celebrating?
Buying price exposure. Saving in Bitcoin. Paying with Bitcoin. Controlling your own money.
Those are different achievements.
Wall Street wants Bitcoin for tomorrow. Merchants need money that works today.
Bitcoin’s monetary revolution still has to connect those two worlds.
