i have been using a budgeting spreadsheet for years, like embarrassingly detailed, every category broken down, net worth updated monthly, the whole thing. and for a long time i just had a small crypto allocation sitting there labeled as high risk speculative and i was fine with that framing. but lately i keep running into this weird disconnect where the finance podcasts i listen to either completely ignore crypto or treat it like gambling, and the crypto spaces online treat anything below full degen behavior like you are not serious. there is no middle ground conversation happening anywhere that i can find. like what does a genuinely boring responsible long term crypto position actually look like in 2025 for someone who is not trying to time markets or chase narratives. i got wrecked chasing narratives before and i am not doing that again. i just want to know if people are actually folding this into a real plan with real allocation percentages they thought through, or if most people here are just reacting to price and calling it a strategy. because the gap between how i track everything else in my finances versus how chaotic crypto feels is kind of driving me up a wall. curious if others have figured out a framework that does not make them feel like they are just guessing every month.
