Georgios Pantzis is going to step down as the Chief Executive of CFD broker Octa’s Cyprus unit after almost nine years, Finance Magnates learned. He is now going to pursue independent business ventures, but the details remain unknown.

A New Octa Cyprus CEO to Be Named?

Octa Markets received the Cyprus Investment Firm (CIF) licence in December 2018, which allows the broker to offer CFD instruments across the European Economic Area member states. Pantzis has been overseeing the operations of Octa’s Cyprus unit since its inception.

His replacement in the top role has not been publicly named yet.

The company, however, said that it is “engaging with the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) to proceed with the appointment of new Board members to maintain a high level of corporate governance.”

It has also ensured that the CEO’s exit will not impact any of its clients or partners.

Brand-Sharing Ended

The move came months after the offshore companies associated with the Octa brand left their positions to launch a new CFD broker brand, Elev8. Those companies, along with the Cypriot firm, previously operated as Octa under a brand-sharing agreement, which is common in the trading industry.

Pantzis’ LinkedIn profile shows that he is now the CEO of WealthIntel Management, which offers services to family offices and wealth management.
