so trump literally campaigned on “making america the crypto capital of the world” and deployed his entire white house to pass stablecoin legislation and roll back gensler’s enforcement crusade and like, great job on the regulatory clarity thing, except 62% of americans think he’s gonna mess it up.

Most voters in the U.S. aren’t comfortable with President Donald Trump’s hand on the wheel of crypto industry oversight, with 62% saying they don’t trust his administration on that point, according to a survey commissioned by CoinDesk.

this is wild because the crypto industry got exactly what it wanted. trump fired gensler, installed hester peirce as the crypto task force chair, dropped enforcement actions, and literally signed executive orders saying “make crypto easier.” the regulatory win is real. the policy framework is actually happening. and yet 6 out of 10 americans are like “yeah but what if trump just like, seizes all the bitcoin for his wall or something.”

here’s what kills me: After the previous administration’s heavy hand on crypto, Trump’s promise to make the U.S. the “crypto capital of the world” reignited hopes in the sector.

The president has deployed his White House to pave a wide road toward friendly crypto regulation. the industry got everything it asked for. the regulatory roadblock is gone. and the public still doesn’t trust it because they don’t trust trump.
