With major crypto exchanges promoting them like Kraken https://www.kraken.com/learn/trading/crypto-derivatives and Coinbase https://www.coinbase.com/learn/advanced-trading/leverage-trading I thought I would like to get some info from the people here

As I understand it, crypto is already a notoriously volatile asset and the idea that you want to magnify your gains and losses seems absurd. It sounds like people are annoyed that crypto isn’t volatile enough?

Also, shorting Bitcoin sounds like the dumbest possible move you could make. That seems like a fast ticket to losing the shirt off your back.

I’m kind of a noob to crypto do so I appreciate input, I wouldn’t be surprised if I am completely off mark and derivatives/leverage trading are the new future of crypto. Thoughts?
