There is a real business in creating WiFi networks. However, Helium Mobile pays people who buy hotspots and install in their businesses in crypto instead of cash.

This token lost so much value in the last few years https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/helium/ (Also what is this? https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/helium-mobile/ )

Helium states that they have 121k hotspots. Thats around 121k people who bought the device and got paid in crypto. Did all these people get scammed? Is the company getting paid in dollars from all carrier offload and are giving out fake money to hotspot owners?

what’s going on?
