Interactive Brokers has integrated its brokerage platform with X Cashtags, giving US investors a direct route from stock and cryptocurrency discussions on X to trading accounts.

London’s trading industry is coming home!

In June, Interactive Brokers added ChatGPT and Grok to its trading platform, while Robinhood earlier launched a social trading platform. In April, Finance Magnates reported that X had introduced Cashtags and was testing an in-feed brokerage integration with Wealthsimple. The IBKR rollout adds another brokerage link to X’s existing Cashtag functionality.

IBKR Adds Trading Through X Cashtags

The integration allows users to search for stock and crypto tickers on X, including symbols such as $AAPL and $BTC. Ticker pages display live price charts, market data and commentary from traders, analysts and public figures.

Users can select the embedded “Trade” button on a ticker page and choose Interactive Brokers to continue to the broker’s platform. Existing clients can then research the instrument or place a trade from their IBKR account.

New users can use the same route to open an Interactive Brokers account. The broker said US clients who open and fund a qualifying account through the Cashtags experience will receive $100 under the launch offer. Terms and eligibility requirements apply.

Tamara Makonnen, Chief Marketing Officer at Interactive Brokers, said: “X is where many investors discover breaking news and exchange ideas.”

She said the integration connects that activity with Interactive Brokers and creates “a new path from market insight to action.”

Integration Initially Limited to US Investors

Interactive Brokers said it serves more than 5 million client accounts worldwide and provides access to more than 170 markets. Its product range includes stocks, options, futures, currencies, bonds, prediction markets and cryptocurrencies.

Monique Pintarelli, Head of Global Advertising at SpaceXAI, which operates X, said Cashtag partnerships connect financial discussions on the platform with brokerage services.

“People come to X to discover what’s happening, shape the conversation, and act in real-time,” Pintarelli said.

The integration is currently available only to US-based investors. Product availability varies by Interactive Brokers affiliate and client country of residence.
