Stavros Economides has left Match-Prime Liquidity after almost seven years with the company, according to a LinkedIn post published today (Friday). He most recently served as Chief Operating Officer, according to his LinkedIn profile.

“When I joined, liquidity was a very different conversation than it is today,” Economides said. He described his time at Match-Prime as the most rewarding stretch of his career, citing his involvement in building its technology, client relationships and reputation.

“What I’ll take with me isn’t the numbers. It’s the people,” he said.

Economides Held Dealing Roles Across Brokers

Match-Prime Liquidity is a brand owned and operated by MTG Liquidity Ltd. The company provides liquidity for forex and CFDs and is authorised and regulated by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission.

Before joining Match-Prime, Economides spent about two and a half years as Head of Dealing Desk at Q8 Trade, operated by Q8 Securities, which is regulated by Kuwait’s Capital Markets Authority.

He then spent about a year as Head of Trading at TeleTrade, following just over two years as a Senior Dealer at Capital Index.

Earlier in his career, Economides spent just over two years as a Forex/Securities Dealer at Markets.com.

Match-Prime Expands Regional Leadership

The departure comes as Match-Prime has continued to expand its management and regional presence. In January, the liquidity provider appointed Kareem Harras as Head of MENA, tasking him with leading its expansion across the Middle East and North Africa.

Match-Prime Expands 24/7 CFD Offering

Match-Prime has also expanded its product offering this year. In June, it introduced 24/7 CFDs on gold, silver, WTI crude oil, US100 and US500 through its Cyprus-regulated entity. The products are available via MT4, MT5, cTrader, Match-Trader and FIX API connectivity.

Leverage was set at 5x, with a 20% margin requirement and $1 million net open position limits. When underlying markets are closed, Match-Prime uses an internal price discovery mechanism with price bands and a decay function.
