Interactive Brokers reported continued growth in client accounts and assets in July, although trading activity declined from the previous month while remaining well above year-earlier levels.

The broker said client accounts reached 5.317 million at the end of July, an increase of 34% compared with the same month last year. Ending client equity rose 32% year-over-year to $906.7 billion.

Interactive Brokers Revenue Climbs Amid Client Growth

Client margin loan balances increased to $100.7 billion, up 49% from a year earlier. Client credit balances reached $180.5 billion, a 25% annual increase. Both balances, however, declined compared with the previous month.

The July operating metrics follow the company’s second-quarter financial results, when Interactive Brokers reported net revenue of $1.9 billion, up 28% from a year earlier. The broker attributed the increase to continued growth in customer accounts and trading activity.

Pro Execution Costs Rise in July

Interactive Brokers also published execution statistics for its IBKR Pro clients. The average U.S. Reg.-NMS stock trade was valued at $23,449 during July. The company said the all-in cost of executing and clearing U.S. Reg.-NMS stock trades was approximately 4.0 basis points for the month, compared with a rolling 12-month average of 2.5 basis points.

The latest operating figures come after Interactive Brokers expanded its prediction markets offering earlier this year. The broker integrated contracts from Kalshi, CME Group and ForecastEx into a single trading interface, allowing clients to access the products through one platform.
