I’ll make this short. I visited my parents, got sick, stayed a week in the couch feeling sorry for myself, and just now found my old USB stick in the cushions. That USB stick that I put all my crypto on that I used to buy weed saplings on the dark web with more than a decade ago. This was always a favourite funfackt of mine “oh yeah I still have like 50 Bitcoin but the stick is lost and most likely trash”. Honestly I was 100% sure I just tossed it somewhere. I had my saplings and no use for the pocket change.

Now I know what not to do:

Don’t connect it to a device with internet

Don’t answer the Reddit DMs offering help

Don’t spend it all on blackjack and hookers

But what do I actually do? I am not sure the data is even still usable, I have no idea how I did anything back then, I was not interested in crypto at all it was just a tool to get what I wanted.

So please, explain to me like you would your boomer Dad, how do I check if there’s actually short of 2Milliom Dollars on this stick, and how do I cash it in?

Important notice: Weed has been legalised since then where I am, so I hope this minor detail does not break rule 3.
