Bitcoin fell 16.0% ($104,000→$87,501) while Ethereum dropped 18.8% ($3,650→$2,966) across the 52-week period. Both assets peaked October 9, 2025—Bitcoin at $126,000, Ethereum at $4,450—then declined 30.6% and 33.3% by year-end. Bitcoin generated 2.91x more social volume than Ethereum (1,516,532 vs 520,308 total mentions). Reddit and Twitter captured 72.7% of Bitcoin discussions and 70.3% of Ethereum conversations. BitcoinTalk showed 13.86:1 Bitcoin-to-Ethereum preference; Farcaster was the only platform favoring Ethereum at 0.96:1. Reddit Bitcoin volume dropped 77% (20,388→4,640) while Ethereum plunged 91% (8,708→766) by December. Twitter’s peak Bitcoin volume of 14,931 occurred October 30, during the post-peak price decline phase. Largest weekly declines: Bitcoin lost $7,000 (-7.0%) December 4 and (-6.3%) October 30. Ethereum’s April 3 low ($2,550) was 30.1% below opening vs Bitcoin’s 15.9% decline to period low. November–December saw 77–91% social volume collapse from peaks accompanying steep price declines for both assets.
