This article is confusing to me even as someone who has raised discussion around the need for post quantum cryptography.

To be clear- this BTQ testnet isn’t even proposed as a BIP. They didn’t solve the issues at hand.

I am hopeful for an agreed upon solution.

As of now, there is no consensus for these reasons:

There are risks of the upgrade- people will want to be very careful (2 trillion dollar marketcap)

It would be major downtime if users must execute transfers (some say 6-9 months)

Slower speeds on the network

And… Requiring user action raises the major debate: Do we “freeze” coins if they don’t take action?

There is nearly even split on this decision among holders

There’s a reason no agreed upon solution is in motion… people can’t agree. It’s a problem

This article was shared on Qanplatform X account.

As a holder, I can make a case for it being better for QANX if top chains aren’t too disrupted by this migration. And I’ve posted ideas on how bitcoin might navigate. This isn’t fud, it is something to be addressed.

This is why I know there is a major split in whether people think vulnerable wallets should be “up for grabs” or should no longer be able to transact

But as people realize the mess they have, projects that have prepared will become highly visible. And their vision and approach will be validated and valued.

I think them sharing this shows they consider their path to success to be independent of whether major chains find solutions. They aren’t trying to be a hedge or raise doubts. They just planned for this and worked toward their vision.
